Privacy Policy
隐私政策
Last updated 29 July 2026
The short version. We don't run accounts, analytics, advertising or third-party trackers. Your recordings and notes stay on your own devices and on the transcription service you choose to connect to. We cannot read them, and we never sell anything to anyone.
This policy explains how Wondering Works ("we", "us"), handles information in our applications, including Ramble and Life Matrix.
What we collect
Nothing is sent to us. We operate no servers that receive your content, and our apps contain no analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting SDKs from any third party. We do not create accounts, and we never ask you to sign in.
Voice recordings and transcripts (Ramble)
Ramble records audio only while you are actively dictating. To turn speech into text, the recording is sent to a transcription service that you configure in the app's settings. In the current beta this is a machine you run yourself — typically your own Mac on your own network — and the speech recognition and text clean-up both run on that machine. Your audio is not routed through any service operated by us, and not through any commercial cloud transcription provider.
Recordings and their transcripts are stored on your device, and on the machine running the transcription service, until you delete them. Ramble deliberately keeps the original audio so that a note can be re-transcribed later; deleting a note from within the app removes it from that device.
Notes, dictionary and corrections
Notes you write or dictate, your personal dictionary entries, spoken snippets and the corrections Ramble learns from your edits are stored on your device. If you enable syncing, they are exchanged only with the same service you configured above — again, a machine you control.
Attention data (Life Matrix)
Life Matrix records which applications and windows are in the foreground on your own device in order to show you where your time went. This record stays on your device.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent or share your information with anyone.
- We do not use your recordings, transcripts or notes to train any model.
- We do not embed advertising or tracking software.
- We do not build a profile of you, because we receive no data to build one from.
Permissions the apps ask for
- Microphone — required to record while you are dictating. Recording only happens when you start it, and iOS shows its own indicator while the microphone is in use.
- Local network (Ramble) — required to reach the transcription service you configured, if it is on your own network.
- Accessibility / screen recording (Life Matrix on macOS) — required to see which application is in the foreground. No screen contents are stored.
Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Because your content stays on your own devices and services, you remain in direct control of it: you can view, export or delete it at any time from within the app, or by deleting the app. We hold no copy to return or erase. If you contact us by email, we keep that correspondence only for as long as needed to help you.
This policy is offered in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you believe we have mishandled your information, write to us and we will respond.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects how your content is handled, note it in the app's release notes.
